“Faith sees the invisible, believes the unbelievable, and receives the impossible.”
Corrie Ten Boom
Corrie Ten Boom was a Christian from Holland whose family’s hiding place saved many Jews from the Nazis. After her family was turned in to the Germans, she herself survived the Ravensbrück camp. In 1947, after the conclusion of World War II she encountered one of the cruelest guards she had known at Ravensbrück. Of that occasion, she wrote that she had prayed to be able to forgive him and then:
For a long moment we grasped each other’s hands, the former guard and the former prisoner. I had never known God’s love so intensely as I did then.
